OUT OF THIS WORLD…
I’m in love with the Galaxy Chic Baked Eyeshadow Palette from BH Cosmetics, and was lucky enough to snag it on sale for $15 (⑅ ॣ•͈ᴗ•͈ ॣ) The color palatte is astronomically gorgeous! Because the eyeshadows are baked, applying them on wet gives an intense metallic/foiled look. My favorite shade is Asteroid (similar to Toasted from Urban Decay) and Aphrodite. For the value, pigmentation and lasting quality, I would definitely recommend buying this palette. I can’t wait to experiment with all the colors!
My Neo Lucky Clover in grey arrived from Eyecandy’s a few days ago! These lenses have been on the market for quite awhile now, and I finally convinced myself to buying a pair. The pattern is definitely not natural, but I do love the look of the clover/flower-like pattern and it photographs well. Contrary to it being a ‘grey’ lens, it is colored with more shades of blue and brown, giving off a lovely blue-grey tone. I don’t really like the enlargement effect with circle lenses on me, and these, only being 14.2 mm in diameter, already create a noticeable difference in my eyes. Probably due to a very defined limbal ring. These are much more comfortable than my Geo Tri-Color World lenses because Neo’s brand offers lenses with a high water content. I definitely want to try out more of Neo’s circle lenses~
I ROCK TOM FORD…
While on my never ending quest to find my holy grail wine-colored lipstick (Okay, I’ll stop with the Jay-Z references now), I ran into a few makeup tutorials that featured Tom Ford’s lip color in Dark Orchid. I was convinced enough and went out to buy that color, only to find out that it had been discontinued awhile back. The guy helping me said that it was not selling as well as it’s sister color, Bruised Plum. Kinda bummed, I decided to try it on anyway. Not the deep red I was hoping for, but it’s a nice dark fuchsia. I would still rank Diva by MAC and 6six6 by Melt above this lipstick in wine-color preferences. I do love the richness of the formula though, and decided to also try Coco Ravish. Right now, my daily lipstick is Mocha by MAC, which is a brownish pink nude. The only nude I’ve ever liked on me so far, until I fell in love with Coco Ravish. It’s quite similar to Mocha but has a deep coral tone.
Being Tom Ford, these lipsticks definitely brake the bank, but the formula is moisturizing, lasts long, and pretty packaging makes up for it. If you ever felt like treating yourself to some fancy lipstick, or have an unhealthy obsession with lipstick like me, I’d say give these a try.
p.s. Just moved this blog to a new account to make this my primary Tumblr account, that way I could follow you all (❁´◡`❁) If you we’re following me awhile back, you’ll need to re-follow me again, if you like, H E R E ! ! !
I ripped my favorite and over worn pair of mock garter tights from Topshop and after a few minutes of crying, I thought it was time to move on. My mock curved tights from Sandys Shop just came in a few days ago, and I’m obsessed. For $6.90 + shipping, I was able to snag a pair of these beauties. The fit is perfect and the material is thick. If I had to compare material quality I’d say these beat Topshop, hands down. I was apprehensive at first to buy them, because I wasn’t too sure how light the the upper part of the tights would be. My kitty knee high tights are super cute, but I usually have trouble wearing them because the upper part is too pale. Luckily, these tights easily match my olive complexion! Looking dressed up is effortless in these. I think I found my new favorite pair of tights.
GOING NUTS FOR DONUTS…
I’m sure by now you’ve seen these animal donuts circulate its way through the internet. If not, now you know! There’s a bakery in Nara, Japan called Floresta Nature Doughnuts, which has gained popularity through their super cute animal donuts.
Luckily for us kids in Hawaii, they just opened up a small bakery of theirs in Moanalua. It’s located in a unusual place noting that most Japanese-based stores that open in Hawaii tend to stay on the east side of Oahu. Anyway, when I heard of Floresta’s opening, I had to get myself a box of these cuties.
Taste-wise, these donuts aren’t comparable to your typical Krispy Kreme donut. Instead, the donut has a chewy consistency of an andagi, and is then dipped in chocolate to be decorated. It’s yummy when toasted. The donuts were so cute, I had such a hard time eating these cuties!
BLUE IS THE WARMEST COLOR…
Recently, I’ve been debating on what color would be best to liven up my blonde tips. After watching Blue Is The Warmest Color, staring the beautiful Lea Seydoux, it was obvious to go blue!
To achieve this color, I used Pravana Vivids in Blue and La Riche in Lagoon Blue. The ombre effect is done by teasing the section of hair where I want the ombre to begin. After parting my hair in three sections, I alternated between the two dyes so that I could get a more dimensional color.
As for my lips, I used Melt Cosmetics' ultra-matte lipstick in Blow. The color is a cool toned dark green with blue undertones. Not your typical everyday lipstick, but the color is rich and intense, and perfect with my new hair!
Finally, I topped of my look with Geo Tri-Color World Brown circle lenses from Eyecandys. With my dark brown eyes, these lenses blend into a taupe-ish color. The pattern is not as natural in real life, but it does photograph well.
Monsarrat Ave Shave Ice is my new favorite shave ice stand. Hidden between two restaurants, it’s located in a little cute alley way on Monsarrat Avenue. For those who aren’t from Hawaii and familiar with shave ice, here’s a quick description.
Based on Japanese kakigori, their ice machine plows out some of the fluffiest shave ice I’ve ever had, and they offer flavors such as yuzu and green tea. I love that their syrup is homemade and uses real fruit juice. I was also surrounded by cute little cacti and trinkets, as I enjoyed my shave ice.
My friends and I got ourselves acai and green tea topped with ice cream, condensed milk, and mochi balls. It was so yummy. I’ll definitely be back for seconds~
If you somehow miraculously stumbled across my page, welcome! After realizing that I spend a ridiculous amount of money and time on food, clothes, makeup, and cute things, I’ve decided to start a lifestyle blog based mostly around makeup, fashion, and cute things I want to rant and rave about. I’m still in the process of creating a solid layout for this blog so please bear with me.
